Project 41 holds tightly to Hebrews 13: 3 which says "Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies." This scripture calls us to not only remember but actively pursue those behind the walls. Our prison ministry team attends chapel service at Ouachita Parish Correctional Center once a month and teaches an 8-week life transformation bible study 2-3 times a year. This is our largest outreach and the lives we see impacted here are incredible!  Each woman receives her very own bible, hotline card, curriculum and handwritten notes of encouragement from women in our community.

The primary goal of this outreach is to build relationships with women and let them know what their options are upon release. We serve as connectors to the help they need and also decide if they are a candidate for our year long program, Esther's academy. The majority of our students in Esther's Academy come directly from prison which makes this outreach extremely important as we take the first steps in building trust and communication.

In order to be a part of the prison ministry team individuals with a heart to serve must complete one of Project 41's quarterly trainings as well as the volunteer training required by Ouachita Parish Correctional Center. This is provided at the Ouachita Parish shooting range at certain times of the year. If you would like to be involved in this outreach please make plans to attend these trainings which are listed on our events page and contact our prison outreach leader Lindsey Crawford at lcrawford@freedom13ministries.com.
